Worth hearing, not just scrolling past — I'll turn this into audio for the thread once 779 sats land here. One zap or many.
I really appreciate @YakiHonne, and they know it: this app has always been an integral part of my Nostr experience. Thank you for your work 👏
this is kinda disappointing. basic is $12/m. your going to lose a lot of users charging for just the basic level. love that your putting power tools at a competitive price but most folks just want basic usage and they can get that for free on many other clients.

v6.0.0?, isnt it just 2.0.6 - there are multiple issues with non-glass ui, i reported some on git - and why cant i just set my profile pic, it says uploading, gets uploaded, shows on profile, then click save and its gone, wtf, same for cover pic?
Web version and Mobile version are different, thank you for reporting we will look into them. We will check the issue with the profile editing please check your main media upload service that u r using maybe the issue is there too 🙏 mich appreciated 🫡

- ow, my mistake on the version thing - i was using the default media server (nostr.build) than tried others, same result, setting profile pic using other app was fine for same accounts are one of devs?
look i understand monetization is important as a business but nostr has been around for a few years now and current users expect that a client's basic features are free - that's kind of the point of nostr, that you own your identity. putting special features like the yakipro behind a subscription makes fine business sense but if someone wants to just log in and read messages and post a note they aren't going to stick around at $12/m (even for us american users that's a high price, i can't imagine global community can afford that). just look at folks like @FLASH who put in hard work to post and try to earn an income on nostr and who've put out their earnings publicly. no one is making that kind of money from posting on nostr. a lot of nostr users are bitcoiners too and seeing all this monetization talk in app around fiat rather than sound money is another turnoff. then there's the whole issue of the frost/pomegranate Google login which imo is a terrible idea. it was tried years ago with nsecapp and failed miserably. i personally lost keys to an account from it. the whole idea seems easy for a new user but is insanely technically complex and so easy to rug because it has the weakness of a "trusted" third party baked in and you end up in a situation where you never own your pubkey. see @alp great article on this: View article → end of the day, i love the new features! they are excellent enhancements and much needed in the nostr ecosystem. but it think the business model is going to turn OG nostr users to other clients and that's the sad part for me as someone who as championed Yakihonne for nearly 2 years - i don't feel like i can recommend it to new users for onboarding anymore. 😭
Hello there @ابو مريم , can you elaborate more ? Because Im quite confused since what was free before is still free now 😅 the advanced features are for professionals since we cant simply afford to pay for everyone ai usage for example the consumption will be unimaginable to the point we have to cover the cost for it, the users are simply paying for perks that cant be ultimately free. Or do you have something else in mind ?

Yes I do that, for a brief period it comes back, but quickly again turns into this. For many months now this's a recurring problem. When you clear cache it works only exactly once, you refresh the page, infinite loading is back. Something is off.
A fix has been pushed, you can retry now. PS: you need to be whitelisted in order to be able to interact properly with the server.
okay maybe i'm confused then but what i'm seeing on the new app is that i'm on a 7 day free trial of the basic plan which costs $12/m. i see the pro plan too at $23/m. after the current free trial period though my understanding is basic Yakihonne would not be free though.
Hey @ابو مريم I think you're still confused about the plans naming, Basic plan YakiHonne is the YakiHonne you know with all its features + new premium features and an access to pro.yakihonne.com, and the Pro plan is the Basic plan + more premium features and more AI usage YakiHonne is free and will always be free, the subscription we have now is merely a support to our work and to cover the cost of running the platform, and to also provide a richer experience for people who needs more, so without the subscription you can still use every bit of the platform you used to before
so i'm not going to get locked out of basic after 7 days? happy to hear that if so. i'd much rather be the confused one but i imagine i'm not the only one misunderstanding if this is what is showing at the top of everyone's feed. image
You’ll continue using the free version of YakiHonne, but I think the naming of the Basic plan should be changed, we refer to Basic as the version with extra features from the free version, we’ll think of a different way to present this. I’d like to also mention that the purpose of those 7 days is to let people try all the perks that they will get for the paid plans including the access to the YakiPro apps.
I think the word ‘Basic’ is confusing a lot of people, the Basic plan is just an upgraded free version, you don’t need to pay to use the free version which includes everything you know about YakiHonne. We will change that word to express another meaning rather than Basic = Free lol
I'm using Brave browser. It seems to run fine for me for example on Firefox. Are you using Brave browser as well? For some reason on Brave it can't seem to connect to relays even though I turned shields and stuff down. Might be your issue as well. I've given them logs, they'll be checking it. image
