The Knots crowd has become toxic enough that I do in fact hope they fork off. I’ll happily sell my BIP110 coins back to them—assuming there will be enough blocks on this chain for these transactions to confirm—and they can go their Bcash way.

This lingo is what scares commoners to adopt bitcoin. Too technical for a normie brain. It’s a scary feeling to learn something new and there’s something new about that something new that always comes up on daily basis.

Above all, Bitcoin miners need valuable Bitcoin. Bitcoin's value is as Freedom Money. Spam devalues Bitcoin, spam is waste. Waste of space, waste of hashpower, waste of bandwith. Miners need BIP110 more than anyone because they have skin in the game. The VALUE of Bitcoin is that it settles transactions without third party. Show me a memcoin that does that? None! image View quoted note →

You sound like you depend on spam and scam which may be true, as well as for David Bailey, Shitcoin Magazine, Citrea, Jameson Slopp, Peter Thiel, Shinoby, Adam Back and so on.

As you can see, I didn't see that loser's comment as I had already blocked them before you made your post Just block and move on. Let their bots talk to each other in the void image
It won't be a hard fork, but rather a soft fork (new rules are a subset of old rules) with possible chain split, if majority of miners do not follow BIP110. 110nodes will follow a different chain until reorg because they only accept valid blocks according to BIP110 rules, leading to longer txs confirmation and also possible problems with Lightning as Lightning relies on synchronous blocktime between nodes (e.g. justice-tx, cltv, chan confirmation heights). tl;dr: no new coins for you
There probably won’t be a re-org either because BIP110 never gets a majority of hash power, or because a re-org is simply prevented with a URSF/checkpoint/whatever. (Or both.)
and that space is for Bitcoin transactions that transfer value its not for spam
Well, the truth is you are not in favor of stopping spam and you are against fighting spam. See how well you describe Citrea use case - the futue spammers to put their spam into OP_RETURN and whoever wants to use inscriptions can continue do so ... But the fees? They haven't stopped spam, have they. Its actually increasing. And with BIP110 fees are still doing their work. image

> Its increasing There's not been a significant increase in usage of large op returns over the past half year. The utxo set has been steadily shrinking in the same time frame. The chart you showed seems to be measuring small op_returns too, which bip110 does not stop.
>There's not been a significant increase in usage of large op returns over the past half year. That needs a proof. But in any case the potential to be used and abused is there. OP_RETURN is Welcoming big data, spam, jpegs and any filth. In the same time not solving inscriptions. It is simply an attack on Bitcoin that Core did, after this meeting with Citrea. BIP110 solves what needs to be solved. Small OP_RETURNs are not a problem. There is 1200 times different between 83 Bytes and 100 000 Bytes. The later is abuse. BIP110 solves also other very very important things. Not sure why you are against it.
You still don't know how soft fork works...!!! But I am not surprised since you work for shitcoin magazine.

They've always been toxic. It's a source of amazement to me that people by into their silly shite so easily. It's like a creepy cult.

This is always the way it goes with you lot. You're a shitcoiner. You're a spammer. You this, you that. Personally I've only owned or thought about owning bitcoin. I've read all arguments from all sides over the course of at least a year. If you have common sense and a decent grasp of the technical arguments Knots is so obviously for the dim-witted. It's a shame I've stumbled upon your comment. I was building my own wallet until I discovered your Cove wallet which I use and enjoy very much. So at least I can balance my criticism in this comment by thanking you for that.
my reply had nothing to do with bip110 just pointing out the fact he has no idea how a failed soft fork would work, comparing it bcash and talking about forking off is retarded

I asked a simple question. Considering what we know about Adam Back and what David Bailey wrote about Adam Back it seems like a fair question to ask.

Oh I see now. You responded to an account I blocked. Yeah look at his replies. He's a mental case 😂

You've been on nostr 2 years and it took you until today to figure out how to click mute. But you're giving advice on which direction the bitcoin code should go.... image
"Why won't the toxic maxis leave us alone? Waaah!" Bcashers said the exact same thing about Luke and UASF back then. Always the same from shitcoiners/grifters. I'm glad to see toxic maximalism is still underestimated.
It's funny they think muting is some kind of win for them. I have little interest in dialogue with coretards at this point. Most of them have destroyed their reputationa beyond repair so who cares about their idiotic response. I'm happy just to point out their stupidity and have a laugh with my fellow knots users.
I’d been encouraging Bcashers to fork off for probably over a year before they finally did it, because I and many others were tired of hearing their dumb Bitcoin Core/Blockstream conspiracy nonsense. Sounds familiar yet?
there wont be any bip110 coins though 😅 thats not how soft forks work your scenario of "forking off" happens if theres a coinciding ursf, which contrary to its name is a hard fork
ultimately without a coinciding ursf to bip110, the chainsplits cannot coexist. its just the same utxo set. functionally, you're not going to be able to interact with the network(s) properly as there would exist no mechanism to prevent your tx to not replay on all networks. the idea that a stalled bip110 attempt creates an opportunity for proponents to forward bitcoins to detractors is wishful thinking 😅 or possibly pure avarice

Yea, I do think it's important to keep commenting. That way new node runners don't get the impression that the debate is over
