⚠️ Gen Z is falling behind on Bitcoin adoption faster than any other generation currently. Why? Maybe because they spend 3× more of their income on plush toys, luxury fashion and delivery apps than any other generation. It’s called Luxury Poverty. And it runs on 3 hidden habits you don’t even notice. 💥 THE EXIT MANUAL – EPISODE #13

Another great episode. The Pokémon reference hit home. You’re not wrong. I was collecting to own something and gambling on packs hoping to pull something big to justify it all because it’s not a cheap venture. So glad I opted out of that years ago!
What I like most about #bitcoin is that it is a life boat truly available to everyone! But everyone buys at the price they deserve I guess

Where did you find a mall? I thought malls were gone forever
Gen Z seems to lack savings and financial literacy partially due to the understandable financial nihilism you point out. Yet bitcoin is also pretty ubiquitous to them and probably oftentimes considered not very far out on the risk curve. I wonder if statistically that makes them more likely to save in bitcoin, or less likely because they'd rather gamble 100x on shitcoins or options
Also toys and luxury goods cost 3x more than they used to (relative to the average salary*), so that's why it feels like it's either luxury poverty or homeless savings. * I made that statistic up.
You have successfully conveyed to the younger generation exactly what my pre-boomer father was explaining to me when I was a kid.... "if you think any of this is luxury, even any of your richest friends, you are a fool. Just imagine what the elites are reaping on our backs and the lives of others" "false luxury" I remember that day my father pulled the wool away from my eyes about North America and western "civilzation". I just sat there. With a stoopid look on my face.

So everyone who doesn't drink coffee, has toys & buys watches is rich?
Could you repeat the rant? I would love to hear it and also for context what you personally considered luxury back then (toys? brands?)
Keep it up Julian. I’ll share this to my mates who still refuse to listen to me🥲 my generation is cooked.
Quote: “When the nervous system is dysregulated, luxury feels like safety.” They sold us pixels and called it presence. Fed us filters and called it self-expression. Gave us algorithms and called it truth. Gen Z didn’t fall behind on Bitcoin. They were engineered to ignore it. See, it starts young. When your nervous system gets wired through abandonment. Isolation. False reward loops. You start reaching for anything that mimics connection. And in a hyperconnected world, that becomes hyperstimulation. Dopamine loops. Plastic purpose. Luxury Poverty is not just a financial condition. It’s a frequency state. It’s the energetic signature of a generation running nervous systems on survival mode. Regulating with plush toys that says “I’m okay” louder than your body ever could. But your mitochondria know. They’re listening. They’re antennas, screaming through the noise, begging you to come back into coherence. This isn’t just about spending habits. It’s about identity. When you grow up algorithm-trained, you think beauty equals value. You think presence equals output. You confuse being seen with being safe. You perform wealth to avoid the void. Because stillness feels like death when your inner child is wired to chaos. Bitcoin won’t save you from that. But it mirrors what you must become to break free. Proof of work. Not proof of appearance. Time preference. Not time distortion. Sovereignty. Not signal chasing. Decentralised value. Not algorithmic validation. Bitcoin is nervous system regulation at the monetary layer. A deep breath in a world of clickbait. A return to signal. To truth. To time. Because the only way out is back in. And this generation? We’re not behind. We’re awakening. One block. One breath. One frequency at a time. #SovereignFrequency #LuxuryPoverty #BitcoinAwakening #ProofOfWork #QuantumBiology #StructuredWater #NervousSystemHealing #GenZReclamation #DecentraliseEverything #SelfOwnership View quoted note →

Zoomer here! And I think you hit the head on the nail! I moved out of multiple “hobbies” to stack extra bitcoin 😎🧡
I never understood how he knew so much, before most people had internet access, and he had never used a computer or smartphone in his life except email twice when I helped him. He introduced me to Bitcoin when he was almost 80. Sometimes I wonder if he was Satoshi.
All the GenZ I know can't afford any of that shit. And no matter how much you save on coffee, its not enough to buy a house. This is no different than every earlier generation wining about "kids these days"

Ur lame, also, that's what stereotypes are, generalizations. If you internalize a stereotype, that's on you.
