Picard.
Strange New Worlds, but I'm not sure if I'm blinded by nostalgia for TOS.
Picard
Next Generation
Because thatβs my upbringing.
Season 1 of strange new worlds was great! Season 2 was not great.

DS9 / Sisko. There is no better Captain π
Picard is my captan but DS9 is prolly one of the better seires.
Credit where credit is due though strange new worlds is pretty good.
Picard. DS9
Paramount has crazy high time preference.
Honestly out of newer series I think I most like Lower Decks...
"I didn't beg, I blackmailed you" is the most coldly delivered line by any fictional captain ever
Duncan Idaho
Babylon 5
(Fight me)
captain pike
i saw SNW and fell in love
TNG is probably still my favourite series though
It honestly depends on how you look at it! Kirk is the most entertaining, Picard is the ultimate diplomat and probably the best to serve under, and Sisko isnβt afraid to break rules to get what he needs done! Regardless, worst is Janeway, not because Voyager is a bad show, but like she chose the Ocampa over her own crew in the pilot?!?! Wtf!! Lol
"Captain Kirk."
I dunno even know what series that is, but a normie like me knows who that is.
So he wins. hahaha
He does it really well.
(for a straight white man on a woke show)
but its close right?!
Same
I watched a few episodes of Lower Decks and didn't like it at all π
What did you think of SNW season 3?
It is star trek, so of course I set aside Thursday evenings and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. The storylines did not seem as deep and impactful as TNG, though. I remember the themes and ideas presented in TNG, there are episodes I could have a full discussion about a moral dilemma presented in an episode. TNG felt like a discovery of humanity by exploring other worlds and seeing humanity from different viewpoints.
SNW is more flashy and forgettable. Still fun.
Spok and Kirk are awesome in SNW, which they really needed for it to work! I hope we get more of them together in the next season.
Han Solo
Iβm very interested in the opinion of nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a
Picard.
He has the best memes, which is a sign of quality. And I like the older captain vibe.
never seen any trek so idk
cant play
this is my captain
Edward James Olmos as William Adama

Kirk, which means Church, so we all pray to him π
if SNW gets more episodes to match TNG it might overtake it
reasonable answer
Janeway.
They didnβt dare show more of the distant future. The Borg, time paradoxes, the time police, other quadrants, and a long story. After that, it all went downhill.
it's a really silly show, but it actually has really good references and continuity; you can tell it was made with love by true star trek enthusiasts.
also, they did a crossover with SNW!
that was pretty damn hilarious
What??
Why not?
hard to maintain the quality they've got so far
I felt like it was, yes. Haha

i saw this video which you may agree with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajAqVMUbHOY
Just flashy, fun, battles. Not exploring the depths of humanity, which is what I like about TNG. You could read TNG script like a book, you could not so that with SNW. But I get it, thats what sci fi is like nowadays.
Seven

Picard. Iβm hearing great things about Cap Janeway. Kirk is the OG, but not best Captain.
Oh well... π€
There was the trial of Number One though
and Laan did seem *really lonely her Kirk died
and the moon of J'Gal horrors of war stuff was well done
but yeah I get you.
mostly SNW is following the Original Series "monster of the week" thematically and just dipping into TNG social commentary
I'm *just old enough to be nostalgic for the OS π
Yes, the character development is better than TNG. You had to wait years to get to know the TNG characters π
Erica ortegas is my favorite SNW character βΊοΈ
well to be fair they were doing something completely new
and obviously it took them a few seasons to get it together π
theyre all pretty good I think
I liked Hemmer, the arc with him and Uhura was creative
Agreed π€ I think DS9 is my favorite series.
Love Cap'n Picard, although in the first season of Picard Captain Rios was a cigar smoker so that was fun...
Same lol.

Many similarities to IRL naval carrier
ok.
Cap. Sisko. Piccard lost his first place due to his new series
I was inspired by him taking out a cigar at the most random of moments. We should all aspire to be more like Rios
It was great, although there were a couple of times where his cigar was busted and we were like oh no π±π€£
Jean-Luc Picard.
For me it's Deep Space 9.
Captain Sulu, of course! You can even find him on Mastodon (not sure if his profile is bridged to Nostr or not). Even Janeway agrees with me! Denny Crane and Gurney Halleck are great, but Sulu is my hero. I just wish heβd got more screen time than he did.
As for the shows, I grew up with TNG, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise. ToS was already a bit dated and more of a acquited taste. Itβs hard to choose the best one, but Iβve always enjoyed the βHolodeckβ episodes. So, while I like the newer stuff around Captain Pik (and even some of the animated serie) I think Iβll go with TNG for all the Sherlock Holmes and Dixon Hill adventures, etc. I also love Janewayβs Victorian shenanigans and the DS9 βVic Fontaineβ episodes.
me too, i have many James Darren songs on my "liked songs" playlist
Captain Kirk, because a) He is the original (excluding the Pike pilot episode) b) Drinks alcohol and not Earl Grey c) Does relatively well with the ladies d) His era is more turbulent and challenging
