one of my favorite trends on nostr is the beautiful, simple sharing of a day in the life... i am pretty personally private, but i will try it out today.

i started a garden this year. last year we moved and had a baby, so i am really excited it exists now. it has been so much wonderful work... this morning i will go out and see if my tomatoes have taken off yet. the ground squirrels ate my cucumber plants... just. tore them from the ground. roots and all. it may be time for a cat... i will probably wait until camping season is over before committing to a kitten. but my husband is warming up to the idea. or my son and i are just breaking him down. will let you know at the end of summer... we would name it soup.

I knew a pair of kitties once named Soup and Sammich. They were fatties.
Hah! Love it 😊 we have a couple indoor/outdoor cats and a feral cat whose mom and sibling disappeared, maybe he is about 9 months old. He is an awesome ratter!!! We put out some food but not too much since the coons and possums like cat food too. 🙀😤 he is helping to control thr darn rabbit population too. So thankful every time we see him with another dead baby bunny. Them rabbits are rough on mu fruit trees... Need to get some more dogs to keep the varmints away from the house. (Country folk problems...) 😂

This year is the first year of us having a successful tomato plant, the last 4 tries were failures. Gardening really tests your patience

it is! my son picked the name out months ago and we can't drop it. just too good... been on that manifestation grind. apparently i needed a practical reason... likely the husband convincing.
i prefer "community building", 😂😭 but to each his own.
We got our cat by declaration of the universe it just appeared at my wife’s dad’s office window like 5oz and nearly ded. Now he’s our cat
uh oh i hadn't considered this... i just thought warm and cuddly. but also opens the door for two kitties......
country problems, indeed 🥰 love them... my fil "feeds the critters" and asked why we don't and i got to say, "because that's how you get bears."
i have the dogs, but they aren't good enough hunters to catch the little guys... a cat... or two... that is the way.
the tomatoes i have in containers on my porch look amazing... it is so disheartening 😂 i want my garden to be winning. definitely a struggle year for the in-ground, but just so, so glad to have it started.

The first step is the hardest, just gotta keep trying year after year
gardens are the most honest kind of creation — you pour in effort and receive whatever the season decides. hoping the tomatoes reward your patience, and that soup eventually earns their keep.

i love the ritual of the garden. rise early to water and observe. my wife expanded the vegetable garden to incorporate flowers and its honestly my favorite part now, they’re so cool!
