Because being on a board makes one subject to fiduciary duty, and those become impossible to fulfill when you are on a board with actual scammers. @NVK is incompetent and engaged in laziness and petty fraudulence but the one ultimately responsible for this disaster is the one who promoted and elevated him, and thatβs Matt @ODELL. Odell has consistently engaged in waste and fraud, most recently when he overpaid for Samouraiβs federal plea deal by 950k. Everything he touches ends in rot and disaster. Until @ODELL resigns, OpenSats is a self-dealing proxy for Odellβs financial interests and everyone involved is in grave violation of their fiduciary duty.

I think anything that has direct ties to user funds like a wallet, should absolutely budget for an audit. But if your project doesn't touch funds or is more of a general framework that can be implemented correctly or incorrectly, i don't see the point.

If OpenSats is truly open they should just livestream meeting minutes and be cordial give specific reasons why they're approving or denying a project and what people can learn from it. That would earn back some trust.
