It’s very telling when someone hates government overreach when the Other Team is in power but loves government overreach when Their Team is in power. You should hate government overreach no matter which color of the uniparty is in power.

true enough... but this current "team in power "is actually executing the will of its taxpaying citizens who had not wanted the other "team in power" to open up the taxpayers' wallets for illegals to consume

Such an idealistic approach Cute, even
I absolutely agree with this, but it’s interesting to see you post it. The conversation you had with @Marty Bent recently suggests you don’t actually walk your own talk. Marty was in agreement that the US government that it should bomb civilians in Caracas, Venezuela. The way you hosted the interview it wasn’t clear you disagreed. I was quite surprised that Marty had the view he did tbh… Talk is cheap sometimes, especially when there’s questions over the

Also interesting when someone supports a particular amendment when "their team" uses it, but then is against it when someone from the other team uses it

Yeah well, the left has *never* called out government overreach when it's their side doing it. In fact, they cheer it on. "Death to all vaccine refusers! Burn down cities in the name of BLM! Call for the death of people like Charlie Kirk with no repercussions!". It's long overdue for the right to stop being afraid of wielding power against their enemies. The left isn't. I hate Trump for not crushing the leftwing lunatics. He's only activating them to be even more extreme. image

More of this in 2026. I get called a Trumpy when I call out Dems I voted for, for not doing shit, or overreaching. Like you guys, you’re suppose to hold EVERY politician accountable and not just your opponents

As a colleague of mine once opined - depending on the team it’s either condoms for vets or condoms for homeless - either way the govt is wasting money on something
Yes, however, enforcing the law is not gov overreach. Forming a criminal conspiracy to traffic humans internationally into the US against American law is government overreach.

And yet the people are allowed to protest and when the agents of the government murder protestors then it is imperative that those people be held responsible. Anything less and rule of law means nothing and the whole purpose of the government is invalid. If you are okay with using political power to murder your political enemies for expressing themselves you aren’t really interested in freedom despite what you might think about yourself.
No one wants human trafficking. Government needs to find a way to deal with it that doesn't encroach on constitutionally protected rights.
the MN protester shooting this past weekend was a huge "overreach" and tactical team mis-shooting and killing. seemed avoidable to me from the coverage I've seen a legit investigation and due process justice is due #2A

"Government overreach" is redundant
I agree with this and a similar X post from @Jameson Lopp It is the most likely explanation plaguing both sides. The fight and vitriol is not about Freedom or Equality, it’s about being right and self-preservation of identity. Within the past 2 weeks this has been so clearly exemplified Privacy and 2nd amendment now make sense to liberals Conservatives all to quick to turn their back on an avid 2nd amendment proponent Ask yourself what it is you are truly defending (answer: an increasingly centralized and powerful D.C. who is not acting in your best interest but is very good at convincing you otherwise) Are you defending who you believe you are or what you’ve been told you should be? 100%. And if people start whatabouting to justify when their party does it, you know they are just captured by their party bias.

“Government overreach” means what? Part of the problem is these things mean different things to different people and everyone talks (screams) past each other.
Overreach is enforcing borders? This is why tech libertarian bros are retarded, gay, and losing.
A lot of very specific pushback to this entirely general statement... Taken in its generality though, I don't see the argument against it. Politicians are, to a rounding error, opportunistic and self-serving. That's why they're in politics, instead of doing something more productive.

Have principles. Show moral courage. Take time to contemplate the view on the other side of the fence. Be intellectually honest and impartial. Stand up for what you believe consistently even when it applies to someone that has different opinions than you. Just be decent and fair. View quoted note →
Until Trump, I agree with your statement. We had to deal with the RepubliCrat Party. The degree of difference between the two parties was negligible. But this is different. When Trump said he was fighting to give the country back to the citizen, the fight really started. This is a war of right vs wrong. It's not Left vs Right. This is The Haves vs The Have Nots, and the Have Nots will use violence and the power of gov't to take from The Haves. It's a battle for the ethical & moral treatment of our fellow human beings. Is it ethical to take other people's money without consent? This is the question because you take someone's money without consent, you are enslaving that person. What is the root of money? Amazing things are happening in our World right now.
It is always the case. The beloved mask of V for Vendetta was Guy Fawkes, a terrorist in the service of the Catholic Church, during the period when Protestants were in power.

Please PROVE ME WRONG. Bitcoin is backed by Proof of Waste it’s an open loop that bleeds energy. BrockNotez is backed by Proof of Efficiency it’s a closed loop that captures saved energy. In 2026, when every watt of power is being fought over by data centers and the grid, a coin that represents 'Saved Joules' is going to be more liquid and more valuable than a coin that represents 'Burned Joules.' We aren't just tracking a sequence; we are tokenizing the Landauer Limit. image
It’s hard to be a libertarian seeing the bad people using the state to destroy the good ones.

If you build up a state to where it is enormous, don't be complaining on the other side gets a hold of it
