Stable? Bahahaha I had him muted a long time ago. But maybe I should unmute to watch the train wreck.
no no definitely not for savings! more like swapping a small amount of bitcoin to Monero for transactions that request Monero. Not unlike exchanging for a local currency that someone requests. ecash would be better, of course, but not everyone is enlightened yet :)

Definitely not many! 🀨What?! Tbh, Monero looks like a dead fish in the water. Just like all shitcoins. P.S. I just want to point out how toxic the nostr shitcoin community is compared to the Bitcoin community.

Are you just muting because you don't have a counter-argument? Your point is not obvious to me.
Only a fool does not see the value in instant, private and anonymous transactions. Monero is the best L1 for that today. So.. hand up, I guess.
No idea. Probably still used to rage bait on twitter. There’s plenty of part time monero enjoyers who are a pleasure to talk to

lost my boat in a monero accident
Yeah, because someone's random ruggable mint (or my own exploitable always-on mint) is totally the same thing.
lol I’m not a fan of Monero at all but don’t act like Hillary and call them β€œdeplorable.” Monero should be used for anonymous things, I guess… I wouldn’t save in it either, ser.

@Vivi Nella Verita, Imma follow you just to be reminded that free speech is for everyone. You're like a parody account that doesn't get the parody. Someone older and wiser than me once said: If everyone around you is an asshole, maybe you're the asshole. Not sure how that applies here but thought you might find it interesting. Oh and I see you just fine from Amethyst.

Lol, buddy he ain't a gateway to shit. He makes me laugh. If someone asks me to prove you can't be censored on nostr, I can bring up Verita and go "Look at this dumbass spouting bullshit. He's still here "
The question is why are you so sensitive that you can't handle opposing opinions? And why only on Crypto? Why not go full reddit mode, and block/mute anyone that disagrees with on anything else? Abortion, Peanut Butter, Homosexuality/LGBTQ+, porn, firearms, military, the border, etc.? Why are Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies especially ones with real life use cases, and good technology so offensive to you? Imagine blocking someone because they don't use iPhone, when other good phones also exist too πŸ™ƒ. Markets exist for a reason.

If one in the digital currency world talks shit about Monero or is dumb or is a FED 😎
Wouldn't someone that supports Same-Sex Civil Unions see you as a Nazi for opposing them πŸ€”? And how do you know you won't learn anything of value from them? For Example, I grew up as a Conservative, and in some ways still am but I sought opposing information like Ron Paul's book in which he mentioned The Drug war, when I was younger I supported the war on drugs but after I read that opposing information, the fiscal, and economic stipulations made sense. Why spend money on subpar results, when all incarceration does is makes that person's life more difficult to improve, and potentially make them violent too. Drug rehab for example would be a better alternative, though again most of us are probably libertarians, or the sorts here, and while the states exist, we might as well be as utilitarian with it as possible, ensuring the best policies possible get enacted, instead of the worst ones.
Verita84, SHAME on you for wasting this man's precious time. He has much more important work to be doing simping for newly onboarded E-Whores from TikTok
Where did he say he opposed it? I think he just doesn’t want to get into a debate over certain topics. Like how I won’t talk to people obsessed with Monero. Not because I care what they do, just that I’ve decided it’s a waste of my time.

Maths neither economy and finance to say Monero is inflationay πŸ‘€ They don't know what is inflation and nether understand that isn't a fixed cap that drives a monetary system to be deflationary or inflationary πŸ‘€
The only reason monero people get upset is because NGUs Maxis call other technologies shitcoins. Pre-emptively labeling anything that isn't Bitcoin as a bad technology. Are there scams, and actual legitimately bad, or questionable projects, yes but calling every cryptocurrency technology that isn't Bitcoin bad is a stupid mindset. For example Ethereum can be used for tickets, and boarding passes, and other utilities that I don't understand perhaps. BTT is used for torrenting, file coin for decentralized data storage. AMP is used to fund collateral for an app called Flexa which enables Bitcoin to be spent directly at Chipotle. USDt is used as a proxy for USD globally for those without bank accounts, and even Jack Mallers recognized its legitimate use case. So you might not understand the technology but research it before you make a blind, and generalized statement.
I like Monero and a handful of other projects. I don't think they necessarily fix money like Bitcoin does, but they do have privacy advantages and are cheap to use on L1.
Not many of us, but I am still interested in the POW coins over the POS coins if adopted by a state
He intentionally started the drama. He attracts to him. If he doesn't want to be annoyed by people then stop attacking people πŸ™ƒ.

you can't use veritas as a poster child of anything. the dude is a psych patient somewhere, and a troll. Pick on someone of your own intelligence, like @Hanshan

It's true I only know Bitcoin OGs that use Monero. They have a lot to lose if their wealth would be public knowledge. Bitcoin noobs (those that came after 2012) are not yet rich enough to see the value of private wealth and a means to privately spend it without revealing anything about that wealth.
After 2012 like Saylor? Hes made billions. What about the massive numbers that bought the Dec 2022 low at 16k? Im one of them btw. You sir, are more than welcome to smoke whatever you want to smoke but you don’t know shit about what bitcoiners β€œthink”. πŸ»πŸ§‘πŸ‘ŠπŸ»
Watch the mirror. Replace the word "Monero" with "Bitcoin" and you'll understand why Nostr sees not more growth besides the only other community (Monero Bros) that cares about freedom, privacy and sound money.

I have used Monero to buy things. Which is what a currency is for. That's what currency gets its value from. When I start making more regular Monero purchases I will start saving it up. Because that's what saving money is for. Right now I have other privacy concerns in my life at the moment and other places I need to start dpending my money first though, so I don't know when I'll start using Monero more.

What does Monero have to do with circle jerks? Seriously, can you explain what zaps are? I never cared enough to look it up, and you seem like you have a flattering view of it.

They should have forked it to remove zaps entirely. I'm not interested in getting paid to tell people what they want to hear. The #v4v #valueforvalue model is fundamentally flawed. The value obtained from learning other people's perspectives is impossible to measure, just like the value obtained from friendships. All zapping does is suggest that you don't give a shit about learning new perspectives, and suggests that you are using the platform for more hedonistic reasons.

How confident are you that you could never learn anything from Verita? Do you already know why he believes what he does? To be honest, even though you say you have no interest in engaging, I admire you for continuing to bring up these topics. One of my personal goals is to be exactly like you in that way. No matter how confident I am, and no matter how much I learn, I want to always keep bringing up topics that will let me see responses from people who disagree with me. Especially people who are obviously wrong.
"there cant be more than 5 #monero bros on here" [gets innudated by Monero bros] copes harder 🀑

Great! It's all about choices, and not everyone has the same needs. I've hodled AND spent for longer than Biden's favorite age, and it became very apparent since the beginning that managing onchain bitcoin privacy is extremely error-prone, and I'm a very technical guy. When Monero came along it was missing essential features (amounts were not hidden yet, and ring signatures were comically small), but that is now in the distant past, and with FCMP coming soonβ„’ it will only get better. So while my BTC bags gather dust yet get heavier and heavier, it is my XMR stash that is actually *used*. To be fair I keep a small bag of BTC available on lightning for certain transactions, it has good enough privacy/anonymity, albeit with more tradeoffs and more gotchas than Monero to be honest. But it's a decent option too. I prioritize privacy and anonymity, as without that you're just a controlled slave, constantly watched, constantly monitored, everything you do added to your eternal dossier / permanent record. As far as I am concerned, that is no way to live. So I do whatever I can to avoid it, and when it comes to my personal finance, #monero plays a huge role in that πŸ’ͺ.
πŸ‘† exactly my feelings except its not actually possible to establish if LN is giving me good privacy or not. but it's probably good enough since the economy activity on LN isnt enough to justify total surveillance. yet.

If you're going to dev a nostr app, do you warn your users that the global feed is nasty and give them the option to turn on security filters? Or do you have the security filters on by default and warn people about how nasty the global feed can be if they turn the security filters off? Let's be honest, an unfiltered global feed would make an old sailor blush.
