Lame and gay.
You, good sir, are making the mistake of straining at a gnat while swallowing a camel. Save bitcoin now with bip-110 and fix miniscript later. Miniscript will be useless if bitcoin is dies.
Tbh I've been slightly swayed in the direction of bip110 as of late.
I'm more a fan of Bitcoin myself.
URSF might be one of the few things sillier to run than the UASF itself.
They either come up with another 50% of hashrate out of nowhere in the next 28 days or they don't. If by some miracle they do it activates, Bitcoin spam slightly changes for a year (and we probably get more just because it's gotten so much press) and not much else happens.
I sure have no interest in forking off just because a completely ineffective BIP somehow activated.
You mean BCash? Or BSV?
i hope in the later years we can remove witness discount, and also lower block size limit to 300kb.
Why?
The state of Bitcoin has been so pathetic over the last few years that otherwise good, honest Bitcoiners have ended up writing code that helps the attackers. You really can’t make this shit up.
This community has lost its way. I hope BIP110 gives it a chance to reinvent itself.

Just a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. Just like how you pretend lightning is more private than it is just to troll monero bros
Ive gone back and forth on the efficacy of BIP110(to my ability) and I've kind of decided that to me BIP110 is more of a signal of where I want Bitcoin to go than anything.
It may not be perfect, but I don't think it will cause much if any harm, and I think sending the signal that Bitcoin is focusing on the money aspect is worthwhile.
Glad to hear you arrived at this conclusion 👊
There needs to be a better proposal.
I with you. It’s all about the signal
That’s why BIP-110 is temporary. To have the time to come up with better solution, while we dodge the possibility of large toxic op_returns ending up on the chain and staying there forever.
What could be better than stopping CSAM and trash on Bitcoin? It's a step forward. We need to step forward. Not taking that step and wanting a "better proposasl" in this climate? Sus as.
What are the risks and disadvantages of BIP-110? Why the community is so divided? If it's so good as it seems why are so many smart people against it?
@Giacomo Zucco and many others
I would like to hear more discussion about a block size decrease. I think it sounds very interesting
Community division in Bitcoin is a feature, not a bug. I think Giacomo lost the plot at some point. I used to like his takes a lot, but his main objection to BIP110 is that if a contentious soft fork activates due to the game’s theoretical asymmetry, it could set a precedent where other BIPs ranging from beneficial to largely irrelevant (such as Drivechains) might also be activated by coercing miners.
just do it
What about it is unsatisfactory?
Is there a monetary purpose to op return? Or taproot exploits?
Well said, and I think many feel the same.
And what would be the response to his main concern? Does his concern have any merit?
I'm not against filtering non-financial transactions, but the proposal needs to be more robust and permanent rather than expiring in c. 1 year.
BIP 110 sets bitcoin up for the addition of new filters at a whim, which will inevitably include filters for financial transactions.
The filters are inadequate.
The temporary nature creates time pressure that can be used to bounce noderunners into an even worse situation.
A mechanism that allows new filters to be slotted in more easily and more frequently will inevitably result in filtering of financial transactions.
There needs to be one soft fork that is actually effective. The proposal needs to come from new people.
😂 You’re inadequate
He's still the most amazing human being in this arena. Defending Luke on his virtues and criticising on what he disagrees, listen to his talk with
@walker for me it was very clarifying. It's a shame we have all this division IMO.
Hats off to him for that. He’s still wrong.
There are two types of smart people. Good people and bad people….the bad ones in this context are generally just greedy. Don’t have much #bitcoin but want to get rich quick.
