nostr can be used to create a new type of community (based on #opengroups) which is based on relationships between people, (instead of algos between people). the killer feature is the protocol itself, which allows community members to add to the tech stack they themselves need.

Btw, @jack, do you see a future for nostr that doesn’t necessarily require storing keys? some way to get users onboarded much more easily?

Nostr is new and different, but I think its biggest problem is its complicated structure for normies (and I say this as a normie myself).
it feels now so much like logging onto twitter in 2009. a few favorite accounts, mostly projecting messages to peers and friends, constantly confronting new people & ideas.
True. Might sound weird, but we should continue where Google+ left off and take it further. Transforming from social media to a self-sovereign everything app. With completely innovative UI concepts.
Another project you initiated ‘win’ to get a mill of users because of political issues, fact its looks better, for some people

Nostr is already better than twitter and FB The only issue is that it hasn't broken into the mainstream, none of the normies I know are on here, they are still on Facebook and tiktok, twitter isn't even worth comparison anymore, it's been turned into a pay to win dumpster fire where divisive and hateful nonsense is promoted while logic and reason are restricted

I agree. Don't try to be someone else. Be unique 🫵
If you actually feel that way you should seek out that kind of community in real life rather than online
Yeah. I agree. I have some ideas to make it interesting. Wrote an article years back regarding the wall. The one major failing with all social media is the wall. Most social media needs a metro type UI rather than a current stream of the latest current thing.
