When fame replaces wisdom, decay becomes structural. Weak leaders are not just personal failures — they’re collective symptoms.

A strong leader would have me on his show to discuss Pubky, in good faith! Else, your self-awareness might be miscalibrated.
or in the context of leadership: the fish rots from the head. i saw a doco today about Maria Ressa, CEO of Rappler in the Phillipines sentenced to 100 years for jounalistic integrity. a true leader we could all learn from.

Are you sure we aren't just calling people we dont like influencers and people we do like are thought leaders? Or some title with more prestige? What defines an influencer anyway? Anyone with more than 10k?

It was already there, all it did is compound it.
I think Lyn Alden touched on this a while back. If you make a living in any way by the size of a “audience”, you will cater to what the “data” tells you. I’ve been running my own experiments and see this come to light.
"Influencer culture" is just us. We did this. We let a bunch of useless storytellers lead us around with narratives.

an influencer is someone who encourages their audience to rely on them in order to monetize their attention above everything else
I can say or post anything that basically says “fuck government” and it is received well. Post a well put together thought, searching for authentic engagement/discussion…crickets. Mind boggling. They crave the gladiatorial combat over thought provoking discussion. “Are you not entertained?!” Takes on a whole new meaning.
#value4value counters this to some degree, at least at a personal level/scale, perhaps the most important level too. It builds community around those we choose support and identify with, rather than whoever a corporate algo chooses for us.

O’Dell’s right wing character arc continues. Matty Jones comes closer to realization.
damn sure. there are people who have natural influence because of character traits and success. influencers are like a 3 musketeers bar… sweet, full of air, and bad for you. constantly marketing themselves as worthy of your attention without ever offering substance. they are kardasians
can't decide if you're getting the silent treatment or it's a conflict of interest!
And sometimes people try to put themselves in a leadership role where they’re not qualified to do so and I’m seeing that in the Bitcoin space over and over again just because your voice is loud. Doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about.
There are also a lot of normal people like me live normally day-to-day who are not rich understand Bitcoin and what even a little bit of it can do to help
