I deleted my account before Elon bought it. I used Nitter to checksome accounts after that but Elon has blocked every access to the site apart rom those with accounts so there's no way for me to see anything now. It's a shame but I'm not going back & it's been a couple of years I prefer life with less social media anyway.

Though I have noticed many do keep theirs around (Snowden and so many more) so I do have a "reconnaissance" account there. But that should be started fresh with no attachments to you. It's good to have around for OSINT, not for actual use. Enjoy the "free" trial. Nostr is awesome. I recommend using a VPN to keep your IP from being exposed to the relays. Just like the internet in general 🤙💜

I guarantee that your experience will be much pleasant and constructive here on Nostr, I deleted X 3 months ago - it was the best decision ever made, here I can earn #Bitcoin, no post limits, no community notes, no troller in chief, no ads or campaigns, no clickbait or bots, no politics propaganda and surely no subscription payments. You can use Damus on ios or Amethyst for android, including Primal for web.

I woke up this morning and didn't automatically reach for my phone and start scrolling through my twitter feed.
I didn't realize how much that consistently affected my mood and mindset for the day.
This feels like breaking a severe sugar addiction.
Sometimes I still reach for my phone, searching for the app (now deleted).

It’s nice to have little breaks
It's one of the first things I noticed about this protocol.
I find this interesting. I singed up to twatter when it was first released. Decided not interested within 48 hours. I got on it in 2022 for curiosity and followed people that popped up on both sides. Both sides of whatever quite frankly. From Covid to vax to climate change to politics and economics. Whatever. Just to watch. I tried interacting with the odd innocuous question to posts. On one viscerally abusive response from a tenured professor I actually responded asking why the abuse considering I simply asked a question on a technical elaboration. His answer was “I’m really sorry, twitter does this to me sometimes”. I found it easy to close the account. It’s very sad as without the toxicity, it had the potential to be a global commons. Nostr certainly has the potential to rectify this division creation matrix. Good luck with cold turkey detox and enjoy mental freedom. Maybe best to leave the phone alone for a while too. Go for a walk in the morning instead. Smile and talk to those you come across

The sparks of understanding and insight are addictive. I want to share it with the world, though I know from experience most will not be ready.

We, as bitcoiners and nostriches, have the curse of Cassandra.

Most won't believe us and it can drive us mad if we let it. I'd like to believe we can always play the role of touchpoint, even if we're not the ones carrying someone across the finish line in every instance.
