empire requires 3 legs to stand: control of information control of currency monopoly on violence remove any two, the empire falls (side note: it puts all its weight on its last remaining leg)
kalau pakai hitungan ini, maka rata rata setiap tahunnya di indonesia ada 33.3 juta orang dengan penghasilan UMR yang kerjakerasnya di nihilkan oleh rupiah bank sentral.. 👀 😱 #bitcoin #maximalist #indonesia View quoted note →

Tell your mom that if she ever wants to know if something is Ai or not, that for the next year or two, all she has to do is watch the hands. If I WAS making an Ai video (which I don’t know why I would or why it would matter on this context) I would NEVER show the hands, because trying to make Ai gen hands look consistent and real is an absolute nightmare 🤣 The software I use sometimes gets the audio track off by a hair when I render on the fastest setting, the quick cuts are just to remove dead space and pauses where I’m collecting my thoughts to tighten up the video, and I’ll work out my neck muscles more so my head won’t look so disproportionate… but no guarantees, I been a lanky dude for all my life and I spend most of my time working on videos, podcasts, and reading and trying to make these ideas understandable (as opposed to working out). It (my neck) will probably only get the focus it deserves if she thinks the impact of my argument is suffering due to my neck-to-head ratio. 😂🫡
I would say that 90% of the time I feel the same way, except that emotional/cinematic touches done lightly and very selectively have much higher impact. Sometimes it can feel disingenuous, especially when overdone, but our big problem in the Bitcoin space isn't in attracting the *thinkers* of the world, its in appealing to the *feelers.* So despite that some will get a little irked, I think it will overall have a far greater impact. I will try to ensure I tone it down a little bit and not lean on it too hard, but I think it's important to let the impact be felt where it matters for those who are not familiar with these ideas, because its 10x more likely to stay with them, otherwise they are likely to watch it, maybe think "that's a great point," but then the very next emotional appeal to "saving the children" will have them screaming to enact another $2 trillion spending bill. If they only ever feel the emotional weight of the argument to "help" with a bunch of centralized fraud, while they only ever get a thoughtful argument that is fleeting for the other side of the equation, then (for better or worse), the emotional appeal will weigh heavier than the logic for the overwhelming majority of people. The secret sauce, at least in my thinking, is to try to convey the emotional weight *with* a strong logical argument that will paint a full picture of what is happening. Then, i think, you can break through the Overton Window of a far broader group of people... at least that's my hope and I'll be testing this strategy over the next couple of years. Appreciate the feedback 🙏🏻
Oh yeah, I totally understand the reasoning for doing it, no argument there. I personally found it a bit over the top for my taste, but not even close to the point of making me quitting the video halfway through. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your content. I'm not the successful content creator Herr, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. Keep at it mate!
Woah that is what you look like? I thought you were a disembodied voice.
Thank you so much Guy. These reminders help knock us out of the concerns of day to day toward focusing on future. I totally know and understand that feeling that what we do doesn't matter. I've felt so burdened by the day to day that I've lost the plot and this helped me go back into looking at the bigger picture. It's not a one time event, being made to focus on the larger scope is an ongoing battle, given that I and likely others often get caught in the mire of the daily actions.
And that’s just in US. They printed about the same amount in each European country.
Scrooge McDuck would be losing his shit at the level of inflation we're seeing since 2008.

I liked the emotional appeal because it hits harder. Also love this discussion so much. Great point about we have the thinkers but need to appeal to the feelers. That’s what people don’t understand about us, we’re doing this because it’s ethical and honest and we’d die on this hill. Many thanks to you both.
