My wife and I were in a fancy restaurant awhile back. The fancy restaurant was playing fall out boy. Wife goes, “that’s weird? Why would a restaurant like this be playing that song?” I reply, “they’re catering to middle aged people like you. This song is twenty years old” she goes, “oh my god” as if it finally hit her that she’s old now lol 😂 Reminder: You’re not a young millennial anymore, you’re middle aged now. Your life is halfway over. You’re dying. Never forget that. Use it as motivation to make the most of your time left.

Or you can think you've gotten through the struggle, have a stable income, a house, cars, air-conditioning, and now it's time to spend time with your loved ones
When you hear your jam hit the oldies station, that’s the eye opener. Just wait until Pitbull, Tupac, and Slipknot are on easy listening station.

I don't think being GenX or a Millenial means you're old. It means your struggles are behind you. You have a comfortable cozy home, a family, a stable job, air-conditioning, cars, investments for a rainy day. Now you can spend time with your loved ones and enjoy your coffee ☕ #grownostr

I ain’t dying I’m living
I didn't save the link to the study providing these numbers that surprised me. History has shown that our most productive decade of life is in our 60s, followed by our 70s, and 50s. Productivity of real value comes mostly at the until end of our journey. Everything through your 40s is mere preparation for when you're ability to produce value to your fellow man kicks into high gear as knowledge accrues exponentially.
What's funny about Fall Out Boy is that they made a comeback for the zoomers. A couple years ago my high school friend was telling me about how her high-school kids were into them.
When you stop hearing Bon Jovi at the restaurant, you know you’re in the next level up
I went for a walk in my old neighborhood one night and heard this song playing from a second floor window. Three random guys were playing a cover of it in their living room. It was amazing.

My god dude I saw fall out boy in 2003 in a small college venue before they hit the big times. I guess I’m dead on arrival 🤣

Well if you're gonna end up hunched dead over the keyboard ... might as well start a revolution

I said to Wife other day "We need to buy a 20 year old car that doesn't have too much electronics in it." She looked at me like I was a fnkn moron and said "What like? From the 80's or something?!?" ... I paused before saying calmly "No, something 2000 onwards..." Her jaw hit the floor and she looked absolutely crushed!!! Reality can hit hard sometimes.
this meme springs to mind and recently I saw a ps2 in a retro gaming museum that caused an immediate, volilent visceral reaction image
So my theory is as follows: Your first 20 years don’t really count (school, college, etc). Your productive years start after this. You will probably live to 80-90yrs old. This means that by 40 years old you’ve only been productive for a quarter of your life. This means that you should be getting better, faster and really hitting your stride by 50. Not thinking of retiring and dying.
You have admire the stones on those three random guys, particularly the vocalist. Patrick Stump’s range is incredible…
I have always despised that shit band. Realizing our aging is the nail in the coffin of our youth but also shows our awareness. Age does have some benefits to it.
