MORE CLIENTS SHOULD SUPPORT DISPOSABLE NPUBS. AMETHYST IS LEADING THE WAY HERE. WOULD BE THE SINGLE BIGGEST PRIVACY WIN FOR ONLINE SPEECH ACROSS THE BOARD. NORMALIZE SINGLE USE DISPOSABLE IDENTITIES. AS THE REST OF THE INTERNET MOVES TOWARD LINKING EVERY ACTION TO LEGAL IDENTITIES, NOSTR REPRESENTS A BRIGHTER PATH.

You would think this idea would be the standard?
I wish I can just have one npub as main and every comment is done with disposable npub one time use only. I wish I could double tap or hold the comment button on amethyst and just do this instead of copy your npub. Make new npub. Find your note then comment.

Is there a specific feature you are refering to? Or just the ability to have multiple accounts?
This not always an option for everybody especially in communist countries.
100℅ Let's normalize all clients supporting nsecbunkers and normalize conversation around nsec security. Even when using a nym, nsecs become valuable as content and social graph grows. @primal when Amber support on Android? Or @npub1uf9g...v8xc support on the web app?
Aren’t Npubs already disposable if you just never log back in with your Nsec? Or are you talking about Npubs that you can set to self-delete after a post? I just don’t see the point.

I believe nostur has a feature to repsond from multiple npubs so that you don't have to switch accounts and then find the note again to interact.

Nostur keeps it weirdo
It's a good one. And yeah, huge tradeoffs, with a really interesting spectrum. For example, if you try to protect your privacy by using one-off keys for every website, you've just re-created single-use logins, but with no password recovery. We have to come up with a framework for when to generate a new key, when to re-use one, and which key to re-use — then of course make software that helps users manage that complexity.
Without money or reputation your disposable publications will become exactly that: disposable. eCash solves the money part. I'm very curious what can solve the reputation part.

I heard about this Amethyst feature a few times but I have never found where it is located? Does it require a special version of Amethyst?
Instead the better solution is that clients ask for the npub when you write a note .. you should be able to choose one from all your identities .. while reading ( display ) needs no npub .. Saying cuz disposable npubs will create unnecessary clutter ..
one-time-use npubs are kinda silly, by definition they provide no assurance of authorship by anyone of credibility - it's about as useful as anon mode in reddit the problem of anonymous credibility in a decentralised protocol is not easy, but it's possible, watch this space
I do this to bridge folks from Tiktok to Nostr, but the incentive to drive the adoption is fed by providing education services. So users get a "single player" app that creates an npub for them and from there they get exposed to things and make their own choices. image
Already doing that. Whenever accessing the service is created an nsec identity on the spot which can be saved as permanent if desired, or to log into an existing nsec.
Sometimes you just want to participate at something without creating a permanent identity. These disposable IDs disappear when you exit the service and exhausted their purpose. Similar to a session cookie for web pages.
I started with $1000. And got back $6k after 6hrs of investing, it’s totally legit and safe to invest in and thanks to my coach @npub1wj92...kj56 Dm him now and start earning
The way he wrote this post makes it sound like there's an easier workflow than making a new account, finding the same note, replying, then deleting the account. I would love if this was just a long press on the reply button or something like that
