Don't want to trust us with your Nostr private key (nSec)? Good. You shouldn't. And now you don't have to. Until now, however, it's been tricky to give users sovereignty over their keys while building an actual, working product. This was easier on web, yet browser extensions too are far from perfect. That's why we're so thrilled to integrate the new @primal signer. Already have a Primal account? Then you can simply log in with your Primal and sign all Nostr events on Satlantis without trusting us with your key! View quoted note β†’
? Receipt please I never said anything about banning you coz I was mad at you I was mad at you a year before for the whole Nostr booth / HRF thing. That was separate. Your account got banned (along with a bunch of others) when we were experimenting with WoT stuff. This old news. Fixed long ago. You can log in whenever dude And for the record - not mad at you. I don’t hold grudges. Too old for that shit.
so your team lied to me? why would they do that? i have one of the highest WoT scores out there and that's not how WoT works man. dude just say i fucked up and did the thing and ill say yeah that's fuck up but i fuck up too sometimes no biggie then we can hug it out next time in person. as you said, we old, and we both have more important things to work on and worry about. i hope youre enjoying being a dad. i was happy when i saw you post that your wife was pregnant. exciting to see bitcoiners creating more bitcoiners.
This is a textbook case of platforms vs. protocols. If you sign into Satlantis with your Google account, Google retains all the power over both Satlantis and you. If you sign in with your Nostr account, you bring your network to Satlantis on your own terms. We’ve worked hard to make it secure and seamless. Try it and let us know how it hits. Ok we hug it out. Thankyou re: the baby. Dad life is the best. Have been enjoying the offline life. It’s 10000x better Love u long time
hell yeah man. i look forward to the next time we meet πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚ enjoy the baby and dad life. i expect to see some dad jokes from you from time to time!
This isn't personal @Derek Ross, it's simply a different architectural approach to Nostr: Correct me if I'm wrong: Plektos uses NIP-52: πŸ‘‰ Native, interoperable calendar events across clients πŸ‘‰ Limited to basic RSVP + metadata @Satlantis: Social Events takes a different route: πŸ‘‰ Uses Nostr for identity/sign-in πŸ‘‰ Builds a fully-featured events platform on top That design choice allows Satlantis to offer things that are currently outside the scope of NIP-52, such as: βœ”οΈ Ticketing in BTC & fiat. βœ”οΈ Advanced attendee management (all NIP-52 features + guests check-in, co-hosting, auto-follow...) βœ”οΈ Growth and distribution tools for organizers (guest invites via Nostr & email, Nostr dms, calendars, newsletters, email marketing campaigns...) βœ”οΈ Custodial Lightning wallet for every user. So, to answer to your question: if you are expecting to see all events from Plektos (or any other Nostr calendar client) on Satlantis, it won't work, because they use Nostr differently.
agree. this isn't personal. some people want to build a free and open source application on a free and open protocol and some people don't. you're using nostr for identity and login. that's cool. you could use it for everything else if you truly wanted to, but the at least one of those features is very complicated and hard to resolve and no one has mad it easy for two people to manage the same profile yet. you should probably let people know that you're not using nostr for social events and only using nostr for identity. your spam messages to my other profiles that talked about events made me think you supported nostr events.
eventbrite, meetup, luma, plektos, club orange, satlantis! so many good apps it makes it hard to know where to go to find events. at least i was able to convince club orange to publish their events on nostr. that's a start. it would be nice if satlantis did this too. this helps make nostr the home for all content. then just do what club orange does and link back to your own application.
Sorry πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… Look at it this way: each app serves different needs. Pure Nostr Calendar clients are very useful for event organizers that mainly need RSVP status of their attendees. @Satlantis: Social Events is a fully-fledged events software designed to help you build sustainable communities IRL. For example: you wouldn't use hubspot when you start your social media profile, but when you start growing, you would consider using a tool that offers you more granularity.
Yes! We already do that, after each event is created, we show the event organizer a big "Share it to your Nostr feed" button (as a note with a link to Satlantis) as well as smaller buttons to other social media platforms. Regarding @Club Orange (@Matteo Pellegrini please correct me if I'm wrong): the ticketing and attendee management happens within Luma via their API.
We used Nostr Calendar Event types for a while (when we spoke in person in Helsinki and when I sent you reminders online), but the current Nostr stack limited what event organizers were asking us, so we adapted quickly to deliver what they needed (not only login, but also dms, co-host invites, attendee invites, etc.). If we wouldn't have delivered, our users would otherwise have moved to Meetup/Luma. I have nothing against them, I think they are products for a different audience though. Think about why the majority of bitcoin event organizers are still using Meetup/Luma even they go against the sovereignty ethos most of us share. They are accepting some trade-offs until the alternative products are mature enough to solve their problem. I remember the first days of @Satlantis: Social Events πŸ˜… What a buggy software (and we still have a lot to do), but here we are, showing up every morning listening to users feedback and shipping new features πŸš€ We recently surpassed the 1,000 events mark πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ I think we are all working hard on the sovereignty path. Everyone can use Nostr, Bitcoin, Javascript or any other open source software to build amazing projects (open source, close source, free or paid, that's part of the deal) and if they happen to have sustainable business models, everyone will win. But pointing fingers at people for not doing what one believes is the right path is a mistake. What matters is the Proof of Work, and the nostr sign-in with Primal is the one we shipped today based on our users' needs.
BTW, this event looks sick!! Congrats @Derek Ross πŸŽ‰ I might come!! Here's my personal feedback about the RSVP experience: I registered using the Nostr NIP-52 feature in less than 2 seconds πŸ† and I thought I was in, but then I realized that there was a different link to a website and inside that website a different payment link. ⚠️ This is not a complaint, just me sharing my personal experience: there's nothing wrong with that RSVP process, it worked! But it's not smooth enough for the vast majority. I'm technical and I find my way, but the masses are looking to click once, be told how much it costs, pay during the RSVP process and get their ticket immediatlly. Hope it helps.
yep. this event is using a different ticketing system. plektos supports tickets. the event is just using something else becasue Tunestr uses Zaprite for everything. the same thing as me registering for Meetup.com PubKey event yesterday and then the event telling me i now have to go and register on Luma for the official invite. it's all broken. hopefully see you there.
I answered my own question by watching the video 1 more time... "your keys stored securely on Primal" So the app is the custodian. It definitely makes things easier for cross platform logins. I'm interested to see how the community responds.
In not sure what to think of this thread, but it reads like y'all sold out instead of helping nostr grow like Derek does. Makes sense that it's on a #primalice thread then
Being a #dev you probably understand how hard it is to deliver hight quality products to market. Happy to answer the questions you might have after you use our product. Not sure I understand who did we sell to or what do you mean about this being on a Primal thread.
I just side loaded it to android. I see the options to scan QR or paste a Nostr connect URL. How does the nsecbunker work on a mobile device with a browser like Firefox or Brave?
We don't disclose when we will release new features, just keep building based on our users' requests. Answers like yours help us get a pulse on what people want and set our release schedule accordingly.
I'm not a fat fingered twit and kind of know my way around Nostr. I tried Amber on my mobile and apart from scanning a web app from a desktop, the other options wouldn't connect. It's probably a simple fix or step that I'm missing but the point is, we need very simple login tools and ideally non-custodial. Otherwise new users will just abandon the protocol. If this is just for tech friendly users, we won't scale. Without scaling this will be a fringe community at best, no real changes made in a world where freedom tech is of critical importance. I appreciate everyone's efforts, so this isn't throwing shade, just keeping it real for the Grandmas. If we can onboard granny in 3 clicks, it's got a chance to catch πŸ”₯
We tried Amber, too complicated. We're not building only for bitcoiners (let's say 1% of the world's population), but for the 100%. Satlantis is an orange pilling tool, a trojan horse hidden in a beautiful (subjective) and complete (objective) events app that is onboarding people to Nostr & Bitcoin each time someone RSVPs to an event ⚑ Hyperbitcoinization will be achieved when even granmas use it without understanding the technicalities of it πŸ‘΅πŸ˜‰ (nobody knows or cares how a bank transfer works, but they use it)

No, it's doesn't work because you're connecting to amber over the network. The whole point of amber is to not give it network access.
