Nuke it @Vitor Pamplona I have faith in you.
Filter for avatar icon or checksum or username regexp.
If you are a relay operator and using nginx filtering out empty http_user_agent would helped for the time being. b4 thos guy changed it
put this in nginx's server scope
```
server {
server_name my.cool.site;
if ($http_user_agent = "" ) { return 403; }
}
```
This is censorship and a violation of human rights!
Nostr is for everyone. π€
Mute Mute Mute! ππ½
Bot lives matter.
This is an overreaction that breaks many other clients. No sane relay operator should do this.
Instead, consider auth requirements, allow losts, throttling and maybe server side context filters
more nuts
you're already nuts because you're here
π
Fair π
yep untill we can filter them on relay this will be in use for now.
Extreme, I know. But it works.

You have awoken the sleeping bear.

Remember to unmute if you're looking for recommended relays to use π
I saw that film!
That was going to be my next note.
Can anyone recommend any good relays? π
There's literally hundreds of people replying right now, recommending the most amazing relays and you'll never know.

okay so im not the only one i was having a problem with primal on android and assumed it was linked with them somehow lolπ«£
Push out a fix please.
Is there any solution how to auto block replyguys with some filters on #amethyst?
yep, you can add their name to the hidden words in the security filter and it goes away
Here is a simple suggestion for bot immunity - may be it is an opt in at user level ..
- Only those who I follow shoud be able to comment or react on my notes .. In a way "follow someone" is a proactive permission to "someone" to react to my notes - reply , quote , fork or like etc .. Rest everyone can read ..
- If someone want to react to my messages - they should first follow me .. and then I can choose to follow back ..
- If you dont "opt in " then every time someone follows you , you auto follow back ..
I know it is probably a protocol level change and it will reduce the traction (particularly for new users) .. but in the long it will help #nostr ..
There is no way to block anyone on anything in Nostr. You can only hide them.
Thats why I said it is a protocol level change .. I am sure relays will find easyier way to filter the spam attacks .. but changing the meaning of "follow" would go a long way ..
If we are being fair thatβs what blocking is anyways
Yes .. I think the current blocking is only hiding the stuff .. relays still carry the reactions of the people I blocked ...
Btw - that is the difference between "notes" and "posts" .. notes mean default position is no one (except me) may react to what I noted ... posts are open submissions for comments .. or likes or whatev..
We should be true to the name :-) ..
Not sure what the influence was but I know in Japan itβs called note(s) and a boost/repost is called renote
Japan folks know what they are doing :-) .. case in point - US Steel ..
When I see notifications in #Amethyst , the global view is riddled with "reply guy" ... but " All Follows" view is good ...
Maybe you wanna implement same logic in feed too .. no display (and reportinng ) from anyone who I dont follow ..
For example - add one more option for the "feed" ... "Only Follow" --- All follows means everyone , including bots -- "Only Follows" means - as the name suggest - only from the ones I follow ..

Funnily enough, I put that string into my muted list on Amethyst last week and I only see those notifications on Amethyst, never on Primal, which is my main app (mobile and desktop)
Filtering is no longer working in #Amethyst for me now. But switching around relays has helped a lot.
What method are you using for switching relays? I noticed that I can remove the ones marked in red via Primal on Android, but not on desktop browser.
