i got interested in economics around that time, too. tried discussing what i was learning with friends. i was either shrugged off or told i dont know what im talking about because i dont have a degree in economics. it sucks because a lot’s changed for me since then, but them not so much. as it goes i guess - you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make em drink.

Things I got curious about after learning about bitcoin (in no specific order): nutrition-raw milk/seed oils/meat; economics; espresso (wtf); fasting; dahlia farming; guns; homeschooling I was a curious normie before Bitcoin but it broke me out of my she'll. I've read over 50 books on many random topics in the last 3 years.

I crossed this bridge myself and chose dad, that said I think you owe it to your family to do both. I once heard that kids really just need 15 mins of focused attention each day to feel truly loved and supported. I do more than that, but I always make sure to give them their 15 minutes minimum each day.

I’ve heard similar, the quality of the time is more important than the quantity. Before my boy was born I might not get home until after 8, rarely before 7. When he was born I made the decision to always be home for family dinner. And do you know what, my work didn’t suffer because I wasn’t putting in those extra hours. Knowing I had a hard out every day helped me focus on getting the most important tasks done and letting the busywork ride.

Absolutely, don’t let being called lucky pass as if it is a thing. Be curious, put in the hours, get better, then keep learning and keep improving (continuous improvement cannot occur without continuous learning Garvon 1993). It’s not easy, it’s not quick, but it will get you somewhere if you keep going. 6 years ago I was restarting investing, with zero knowledge, now I save in a better asset, sounds simple but it took a lot. Being a dad is certainly top priority though I struggle with the balance myself.

I've never heard of that before. I'm glad I don't have to decide because my family will always win. To see my daughter's laughter feels better than anything else
