People should set the zap value at whatever they feel comfortable with imo.
My default is currently set at 100 Sats but I do change the value from time to time.

HODL culture trained our brains to fear spending.
Layer on a lifetime of ad based conditioning and a hardwired need for reciprocity, and you get this weird outcome.
People will tip a barista $5 cuck bucks without thinking, but hesitate to zap more than 2–3 sats on Nostr.
The fix is behavioral. Set a weekly zap allowance, measured in fiat, $20. Spend it freely. Don’t track reciprocity. Believe that karma will work things out.
V4V only works when we stop keeping score.
Minimum of 21, zap in multiples of 21. That’s just me.

I feel like HODL culture was a necessary first step to understanding bitcoin. HODL in fiat volatility, then as you spend enough time learning bitcoin you realize bitcoin is just a better money. So you use it how you would… pay for things you want and need, and save in it as opposed to saving in dollars.

I moved SATs from my Strike wallet to my Nostr wallet for the first time. Everytime I do this I'm awed. The other day I sent SATs to my mom's Strike wallet (thank you @jack mallers!).
We both were awed.

Someone needs to get nostr.band back up and running.
You could check what people's average zap amount was, their total received and sent.
It encouraged me to zap larger amounts being able to look the info up.
Yeah but waiting 30 seconds for another app to load and approving the zap is annoying.
If amethyst had their own custodial wallet it would be my number one choice to recommend.
For new people who don't know shit about Bitcoin, it's yakihonne or primal
