After having a little money for a few years and dabbling in some of the finer things I can tell you that nothing beats an ordinary life. - Getting a slice of pizza and seeing a movie with your wife. - Hitting the bar and having drinks and conversation with your friends. - Hanging out at the park throwing a frisbee around. - Taking the kids for ice cream on a hot summer day. - An economy plane ticket to go visit family or an old friend. - A reliable car that takes you where you need to go. - A great blanket to snuggle up in on a cold winter day. If you have these things already, trust me… you are wealthier than you know. Drinking $1,000 wine and eating caviar with famous people won’t make you any happier. In fact it may have the opposite effect. As the bitcoin price rises you should definitely dabble in fancy shit if you feel compelled, but once you get a peak behind the curtain you’ll find out pretty quick it’s hollow and meaningless compared to the things that really matter.

Sitting at home with your wife and kids. But being able to spend 10k on wine and caviar if you wanted to is a nice feeling
As a consumate troll I can assure you, nothing would bring me greater pleasure than eating caviar with famous people. Just so I can have a fun story about fucking with famous people and pissing them off to tell my real friends later.
So true. Peace and joy are the priceless things no money can buy. Feed your soul.
Not to mention the bizarre fact that once you have a big house, multiple cars, fancy appliances and other ‘toys’, it’s a full time job maintaining it all! I once worked for a very wealthy family, and this part blew me away, had never considered it before. Even the landscape maintenance needed a team and cost a fortune. People think that once they are “rich” they can pay people to take care of all their shit and it will be easy, but there are so many decisions that need made all the time so in my case the couple was still involved for hours every day… and they definitely weren’t living their best life :/ There is always more to do, build, acquire etc. I love the saying “Enough is a feast” 🧡

If you’re very tall over 6.2”, a business class ticket is always worth it; given the absolute torture sitting with no leg room.

Remember back in Aug - Sept #BTC at $25ks how it felt like it couldn’t go up but down only right? Now it also feels like #Bitcoin can’t breakdown but up only right? Yes, The market is simply following it’s usual pattern If you haven’t join the RCL Vip newsletter group already, I would highly recommend you start now RCL is doing a great job in demystifying biases in #Bitcoin and bringing clarity to controversies.

Chosing a simple life and having to live a simple life is a big difference, though :)

few. while a 10usd wine may be twice better than 5 usd win. a 1000usd wine is maybe 10% better than a 100usd wine.
IDK, working on trucks and cars gets fucking expensive bro. Guns, tools, equipment, machinery, land to do it all on. Hearing my voice echo in the hallway of my home would be pretty cool too. I might be fucked but it would be nice to have money once. I'd like to try it, learn being rich sucks, rather than listen to rich people tell me all that glitters isn't gold.

The best thing I ever purchased was my time. It takes a lot of money to afford living with only the essentials. An overabundance of things are a common coping strategy for when doesn't believe in their own future.
You should definitely get rich. Getting rich is important. Just make sure you spend the money on the right things.
The key to happiness is realizing you don't need much to be happy.
When #BTC was at $25k in August and September of last year, you recall how it seemed like it could only go down, not up. right? Right now, it seems like #Bitcoin can only go up and not down. Yes, the market is just going through its normal motion. Joining the RCL Vip Newsletter group is highly recommended if you haven't already: is doing an excellent job of demystifying biases in #Bitcoin and shedding light on contentious issues. don't miss out some interesting performances, Good luck

100%. Almost ALL of the "elegant life" is really about chasing status, and people constantly confuse status for happiness. It is not and will not make you happy. To the contrary it will make you feel empty and all you will want is to chase higher status. the real things in life are far simpler, and having a solid grounding, a family, doing what you love, and securing your life against the storms of the world will give you more happiness and fulfillment than anything else I know of. Chasing clout is not only shallow, but all the people who spend their lives chasing it are shallow too. Don't spend your life with them, and don't try to be them. View quoted note →
I've been in and out of bitcoin since 2013. Friend and I sold nearly a whole coin for $100 back then, and earned it from mining on an old laptop and dirt cheap some asics. Good times.
Everything you say, except the economy ticket on an airplane. I’d go first class always if I could afford it.
FACTS!!! I vividly recall being wooed by an old money wealthy young man as a young woman. He was nice enough & I quickly learned that I couldn’t ever be bought. His family made me quickly run away. Certainly, that was their plan. 😅 Obviously 🙄 , this isn’t the same for every family. I’ve met some very kind people who I later learned were well off. Money is an odd thing. I’ve been what society would call rich & I grew up in poverty. For some, it makes others behave differently. It certainly made me more thankful for whatever “success” I had as it’s primarily luck. Money is a tool like anything else. I’ve found myself being biased against someone I thought had too much money. Admittedly, that was an immature decision. I’ll admit that now. We all have our biases & constant learning is needed to make a life. 😊💜🙏
It’s true. Modern society is far too focused on things like luxury and materialism when the best measure of true wealth is simply freedom to spend your time however you choose. Once you can afford the trappings of wealth you quickly realize how overrated most of it is.
When you're not sacrificing your authentic self by going down the fiat mines every day, you become more satisfied with the simple things. I'm convinced that the obsession with consumerism is driven by the fiat slavery. I'm looking forward to seeing more Bitcoiners freeing themselves to allocate their time as their preferences dictate. I'm seeing this shift starting to happen right now. I'm not seeing caviar, coke & lambos yet.

I just want my time back. There is nothing worse than being trapped in the fiat time suck of 8-5 Monday-Friday.
Unless I'm on an exit row my knees are touching the back of the seat in front of me. Then they recline, and the pain starts in earnest.
Preach. Very well said. My happiness increased the more money I made but plateaued at a certain point. Now the things that make me truly happy are not my success, but my child, my dogs, home cooked food, my garden.

The more wealth I have, the more things I feel free from, because I choose not to have them. Possessions are responsibilities that take our time, money, and attention.

could not agree more. sometimes simple thing can make happy
Yeah, a little different on the yacht but I ain’t gonna lie I miss kayakin.
A kiss from the wife, a hug from the kids, a walk with the dogs, a beer with your friends. True wealth
A week ago I had never heard of a Ninja Creami, but hearing you guys talk about it on Clubhouse I'm looking into buying one. 😏
Wealth means many things to different people. For me, it's the peace that comes from having the means to deal with the unexpected.
I Wish that that life was more ordinary. Most people are so stressed. They love to simply do that. As for Bitcoiners I hope they can rise up slowly Put solid value into their lives and keep strong character and integrity🙏🏽❤️

There’s a reason they said happiness doesn’t increase after 70k salary or whatever
I think this ethos is one of the many reasons why we have a shot at a better future if there is a wealth transfer due to bitcoin. The folks (certainly not all) who are in this for ideals, positive change in the world, more honest systems will be able to apply more pressure in society. These changes may have a chance to establish a new tone, reveal better priorities, and remove some power from the worst elements of the control society.
