Oppenheimer
and more than 3 months ago: The Father (Anthony Hopkins with "Joe Biden"-Sickness). It's great. Hence the cheating.
Loved Triangle of Sadness. So good.
Didn't watch much but "What we do in the shadows" was hilarious.
Captain Fantastic!
The Ballad of Wallace Island.
Watched it a couple years ago. Very strange movie 😅
I don't know why, but I didn't like Everything Everywhere All at Once. Not even a little bit.

Fantastic movie.
True! That is why I liked it :D
Agree. Incredibly well executed. And the soundscape is out of this world.
The running man or Predator Badlands. Others are woke shit
Interesting! Haven't seen that one yet. Thanks!
maybe not my favorite but I thought Challengers was extremely fun and unique. nah fuck it it's my fav in last 3 months.
If you like strange movies I'd recommend Primer in case you haven't seen it yet. Best time-travel movie ever made imho, and very re-watchable (if you enjoy strange movies, that is).

The Lost King 👑
based on true story
if you like history you will enjoy
Totally vibed with Triangle of Sadness! It was fire! 🔥💯
I've read this poster as "Brad Pitt: The Movie" and was very confused for a second 😅
👀
Awful branding, good movie 😂

It's an old one, proper B movie type of thing, bad acting and cheap sets but the story is great. If you're religious or an atheist it'll give you something to think about and it's old enough you can find it on YouTube now.
The Man from Earth
Enjoy.
Watched this classic last week

Ya this was a blast to see on the big screen.
Jones plantation. Just watch it

Instant Family, Wicked: For Good, Rental Family. Enjoyed all of them!
Just Mercy
I was surprised, usually when there's so much hype I don't really like it. I really enjoyed it though 🥰

Was superman out in the last 3 months? That was really good
Liked it more than I expected too. Saw on a plane, so that may have helped some in my enjoyment
Walk the Line (2005) — the biography of Johnny Cash
The Crow. I try to watch it every hallows eve.
The Matrix. 😬 First time in a long time. Great, as always.
Chitty chitty bang bang
Kooyanisqatsi. Never gets old. Artistic masterpiece never to be achieved again.
I've probably only watched one movie in the last 3 months and it was ELF a couple nights ago. By default it's the best, but it is a great movie and the only way to kick of Christmas season.
Oh, and "The Intouchables". Loved it.
"The Straight Story"
Good, but weird, but good.
Re-watched https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MhPSl00UDVE
This one interests me. Without reading too much about it (so as to not spoil it for myself), I think it fits with what I called "big fish out of big water", maybe. I wrote about it last summer: https://peakd.com/hostr/@crrdlx/hostr-longform-a6madudtlsm
same for me. it gave me a mid life crisis
Just rewatched Primer. Fantastic movie.
Brazil
V for Vendetta- Remember remember the 5th of November

Fantastic movie, and what an incredible story.
Wonderful movie. My friend Andre recommended it to me 😅
It gave me nothing. I felt it was very empty.

Rewatched “The Dish” .. aussie classic
🤣 Missed this note but 100% Agree.
Coherence is another amazing low budget film that crushes it's niche.
Renfield. I was a bit high which may have helped but I loved it
This one sticks out for me! Piqued my interest

"It helps to have a touch of autism so it's probably a good fit if you're on Nostr."
A Hidden Life (2019)
yea that one was awesome, thanks for the reminder!

Lilo and stitch is underrated as hell.
Gf got me to watch it for the first time recently and I was cackling.
This is a spoiler but after you watch it, refer to this. It will blow your mind.

KPop Demon Hunters. May be the only movie within the last 3 months and I had to watch it with my niece. 😂
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
suburra (2015)
Train Dreams, Perfect Days
not a movie, the sopranos
Possibly "Hardware" (1990). I've watched it a fair few times in the past couple of years since discovering it. Something about it is just very captivating.
Shrek 2
Little lame that this is so obvious for me now. Godfather. Over 20 years since last time.
The Substance,The Girl with the Needle,天使のたまご
The series 1883 made me rewatch this:

I forget Caught Stealing by Aronofsky
Troya
Really enjoyed this action movie about Thracians
What Happened to Monday

You should give „Pluribus“ on Apple TV+ a chance.
I watch it on a yearly basis.
I watch "The Boondock Saints" on a yearly basis. https://youtu.be/WJfnHpboCXs The truth is, movies like them aren't made anymore.

I'm a sucker for time travel movies, About Time (2013).
The Running man is also woke and so bad lol, didn't see Predator yet
Die Hard
I found it fascinating . Actually think I'm gonna watch it again right now…
Oh this one‘s good. 💜
Great thread! 💜

From 2025? Frankenstein wasn't bad and The Mastermind, true story: "In 1970, failed architect James Blaine Mooney and cohorts wander into a museum in broad daylight and steal four paintings. When holding onto the art proves more difficult than stealing them, Mooney is relegated to a life on the run."
One of my all-time favs!
Ikiru - Japanese film, 1952
Dead of Winter; The Thing From Another World (1951)
I hardly watched any, but it would be Bladerunner 2049.
Could easily tell you the worst. Haven’t seen many at all lately though.
The Phoenician Scheme.
Time travel loops and killing (one-of) yourself is a mind-F
One Battle After Another - highly recommend - Leo is exceptional.
Great comedic elements & chase sequence awesome.
That would be - “Can i eat your pancreas? ”
I didn't either. It was extremely overhyped, despite me liking many of the individual actors.
I didn't actually realise that until the end of the film, but will definitely check it out, thanks.
Groundhog Day - what else?
Don’t worry darling
Currently 15 minutes in on Hoosiers and can already see many multi-sig overlays decades before Bitcoin was born 🪡🤓🪡
