yo. entire Bitcoin market is a mess. Robinhood and Coinbase are down. two of our LPs behind the scenes have gone down completely. Strike is online and functioning. Spreads are all over the place across the entire market. I can’t find anything tight, but we are on it. Have been able to improve things in the last 30 minutes or so and still working on it. Dead bodies everywhere out here in the space 🤣 If you have any issues or questions, just hit me up. Happy to help and glad Strike is one of the rare services online serving Bitcoiners when the going gets tough 🫡

Appreciate the transparency, thanks for handling my smash buy without a problem 💯

So, were the exchanges down because of the sudden price action, or did the price swing in response to outages? I suppose both, but what came first? This was wild to watch unfold! Just curious about the mechanics.
Nice job, @jack mallers and @npub1ex7m...vyt9 Now that the longs have been liquidated, just waiting for obvious melt-up as the shorts get their turn and everyone freaks out the other way. Betting we are back over $120 before the end of next week. Man, never change, bitcoin! 1 sat = 1 sat.

Watching these spreads is wild. Props man.
Core 30 release, turning the blockchain into a child porn hosting service, A LOT of people dumped everything they had this morning out of fear that bitcoin will either become illegal or worthless thanks to core 30 release
The price dropped because core 30 released and a lot of people just dumped everything they had out of fear that the Bitcoin blockchain will get filled up with child porn and malware as the core 30 update allows people to host child porn on the blockchain.

Went to buy on Strike but the spread was too high. Ended up using Cashapp for this one, but super impressed that you’re here updating on nostr and I’m sure working hard to keep things going. That kind of commitment and transparency will keep me a Strike customer!
I doubt that many people are "in the know" on that issue. But maybe you're right. Although the rest of the market is down too so that also doesnt seem to support your thesis

It would be super cool if you could talk about this in your next podcast. What are the implications of v30? Should we run Knots?
So umm... What's going on?

Yeaaaaaaaa. Thats not exactly what happened 🧐😛 More like a geopolitically induced overlevered shitcoin and big tech reversal that has been coming for a months now… 💩 💣 (And before you start screaming, I run Knots 😉)

placed order on strike when the price was 110,000-112,000 and it was filled at 120,000. Shameful sir.

Yeah spreads were off the charts, huge difference in usd and euro as well. But good to see buys were functioning:) will take a month + for markets to recover from this
Tried to snipe a $113k buy at beginning but got $118k prices when I didn’t look close Understand there’s fires behind the scenes but would appreciate any resolution

It would really cool if you could spend some time on the next podcast giving some inside baseball about what was happening behind the scenes with the different LPs or the market in general.

Great to see that Strike is now available finally in Italy! I'm struggling to get my docs 'verified', but hope to be signed up very soon 🥳🪷

(If it *is* actually available here? I got the App downloaded and started the first step to 'verify', but it won't accept the uploaded utility bill...)

To be honest, why bitcoin market crash when there’s bad news? What are you going to buy after you sold your bitcoin? Save in USD? Good luck with that 😏

Sounds like a coordinated sell off!
Just as an anecdotal comment here, I made two smash buys during the dip, one filled BELOW the price quote in the app, and the other was a limit buy at around 106 that filled .12c above target. Both made during peak volatility hysteria.

Small dip fragility across the board. How do you see mitigating counterparty risk long term to keep uptime consistent?
Maybe it’s because @npub15dql...lm5m, $trategy and BlackRock haven’t realized the following, @Jor: 1. A Coinbase IOU ≠ Bitcoin 2. "Not your keys. Not your coins" 3. "Your bitcoin having a custodian is like your girlfriend having a boyfriend" But BTC/USD, $MSTR and $IBIT are trading around the claims that: - $trategy got 671,268 BTC at Coinbase - $IBIT got ₿ 772,584 BTC at Coinbase - The black box Coinbase haven't been hacked, even though Coinbase went down two times in ~8 days in October (when Amazon Web Services broke 1/3 of the internet) What’s your insights into this matter @jack mallers?
