Sold one coin today to put a down payment on my house Yes I know Bitcoin will keep going up much faster than a house But I saved it and waited 2 cycles so I can finally escape the pod I've lived in for 20 years I've never owned a bbq or had a yard or a garage Thank you Satoshi

Also a stable, functional home = productivity go up = more fiat/bitcoin to replace what has been spent 👍🏼

Congratulations. You produced value, stored that value, and then exchanged it for something of value to you. This is the way.

Congrats man. Its a big step you've taken. Obviously such a hard decision but remembering whats important in ones life should be top priority. May life give you back that coin ten-fold by the productivity you'll have in that house.
Good for you! Remember to minimize your down payment to the lowest possible. Maximize the loan to retained and/or repurchase the Bitcoin that can be held alongside it long term. Just do the math and do what’s best for you, but at least do the math.

Hope to do the same one day
Congrats! I plan to do the same about a year from now, or if BTC price gets super hot later this year.

Depending on how much is worth, what state is located and how much of that value you’ve paid, then you can take a HELOC and use it to buy back your bitcoin 🫡congrats

Bitcoin IS money. This means that you use it to save the returns from your labor and spend it in due time on whatever it is you want to buy. Yes, it will continue to go up, so what? Bitcoin won't be money if we don't treat it as such: save what you can save, and spend what you need to spend.
>Sold one coin today to put a down payment on my house This statement alone is both funny and amazing 😅
Only if your house is big enough for 2 kids:) but seriously, congratulations, I still don’t have a courage to do the same, probably because I haven’t found a house worth 1 BTC yet

Enjoy man!
What’s your money good for if you don’t ever use it on the most important things? I hope to be able to buy a home someday as well. With bitcoin, it’s possible.

Congrats! My hope is to sell some sats in the future to an individual for his/her property. I hope to hold out until I can do this. But I’ve owned my homes for decades and it IS the best feeling! Happy for you!

Very cool, congrats. I might do the same but my Bitcoiner brain tells me to wait one more cycle and then just buy the house outright. Damn you Satoshi for creating the hardest money the world has known

That’s what Bitcoin is for
Bitcoin is for spending, no need to apologise or defend your choices. They are up to you after all and anyone trying to convince you otherwise is retarded.
Well done bitcoin is for saving purchasing power to invest in the future. A house to live in is an investment on your life, your family, your future, your independence and freedom. That is what #bitcoin is for. A farm, a business, agricultural land are all worthwhile assets in which at some time everyone will have to convert some of its bitcoin. Congrats👏 👍

Best feeling in the world !!! All those firsts … it’s wild when you’re year 2 or 3 in and looking around at your place & seeing it become your home. Congrats !!!

Man, that's huge—congrats on escaping the pod and stepping into a new chapter with a house! I get it, HODLing through two cycles is no small feat, and using those gains to secure a yard and a garage is something to celebrate. Sure, Bitcoin's gonna moon, but having a place to fire up a BBQ and call your own? That's living the dream. Satoshi would be proud you turned his vision into something real for you.
